Used ac compressor? please help!?

Will a used ac compressor work fine for my car? It's a 96 chev cav and I don't want to spend a lot of money. Is my best bet a junk yard? And will an auto repair shop instal it? Thanks for the help!

1Fire is smoking crack. No respectable shop will order a part from a junkyard and give a warranty on it. Just buy a new or rebuilt one from the shop that installs it for you. You are also going to need to replace the accumulator and orifice tube as well if they are going to give you any type of warranty also. So there is no cheap way of fixing other then if you just roll down your windows.
